The House!

We have now found the empty house we wanted: a dilapidated building with several rooms, bedrooms and a bathroom, waiting to be renovated a perfect environment for us to begin work and with an expectation that the site with have direct inspiration to our work.

An empty house is often a transient space with its own narrative. Memory and history are saturated in the walls of a house and each room within that house has a story to tell. A house, a building awaiting re-occupation or demolition occupies a space, often ignored or considered unimportant. It is this "in between" space that we want to challenge and add to, in a changing and increasing dialogue.

We will document the whole process with a video film and photographs. This documentation and not the produced art will form the basis of a gallery exhibition to mark the end of the process together with some materials brought back from the site.

We have advertised our project on
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2273464784&ref=mf .
We are also investigating the documentation process in terms of the possibility of installing webcams or posting regular video updates online, so that our "working" can be viewed on the net because we want to engage the viewer and invite "outsiders" to enter the space.
